THE AGENT-GENERAL.
The Hon. W. P. Reevea left by the 6.45 p.m. train last night to join the eteamer at Lyttclton for Wellington. Between fifty and sixty people assembled at the Christchurch Railway Station to see him off. They included members of the Canterbury Liberal Association, New Zealand Workers' Union, Ballance Liberal Association, Canterbury branch of the Kail way Servants' Society and Women's Politioul Union, aud Mr W. W. Collins, M.H.R. Three cheers were given to Mr Reeves, who had shaken handa ■with nearly all on the platform, and cheers were given for Mrs Kecves and family. The Hon. Mr Reeves returned hie thanks, and the train immediately afterwards •teamed oat of the station.
