DUNEDIN BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION.
The annual report of the Benevolent Institution Trustees, at Dunedin, shows that the number relieved during the year was 3201. The number of inmates at the beginning of the year was 247, and at thp close 259. Thirty-five deaths occurred. The average number of inmates was 261, and the average charge per week was 5a 3£d per head. The amount disbursed in out-door relief was £7698, an increase of £221. The total atnoaut expended during the year was £18,840, which includes £6584 for relief works, being contributions from the Relief Association, &c, together with the Government tubeidy.
