LINWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL.
An ordinary mooting of the Lmwood Borough Council was Hold last evening, when there were present—The Mayor, and Cra. John Taylor, Pearce, Atkinson, Board, Horaloy, Jamiesou, Jos. Taylor, and Pentecost. An apalogy was read for the absence ot Cγ. Duncan. Cr. Pjbnteoost stated that Mr Redpath had offered to put an invert in the Tuam street drain fronting hii property at hia own cost. It was resotved that upon Mr Redpath communicating with tho Couucil on the subject, the Mayor, Town Clerk, aud Dram Committee be authorised to make arrangements with the .Urainage Board for carrying out the work. The Mayou said tiiero were no funds availabio for doing any iirgo works thia year, but concrete channelling was much needed, and the Couucil should make a start at oncu to do some of tins work out of ordinary revenue. II« thought tho Council might construct a concrete bottom in the Tuam street drain. Endeavours should be made I hie year tc obtain a reserve. The mutter of willo«va growing on the Rivet- road was referred to the Works Committee with power to aot. The Borough Treasurer reported that the receipta sicco last meeting had been £514 12s 7d, the debit btUiuicn was £101 0a 9J, aud cash iv hand £26 2s sd. It was decided to allow the Council* cmployoesfuU pay for all holidays. The report was adopter. Afior transacting aotno further routine j busiuess the Council adjourned.
