(PP.ES3 ASSOCIATION TELECiRAMS.) AUCKLAND, January 3. A fire occurred yesterday morning at Ngaruuwahia, by %vhich the whole oi Mr (J. Starr's building, were destroyed. They comprised a tailors shop, occupied by Mr F. Capstick ; a butcher's shop, unoccupied, but containing all Mr Starr's business account books ; and a bootmaker's shop, occupied by Mr Clayton. Mr Capstick is a heavy loser, as all his machinery, patterns, and stock-in-trade were destroyed. Mr Starr estimates his loss at fully £300, the only insurance being on the buildings £175 and on the machinery aud fitting, iv the shop £60 in the North German office.

NAPIER, January 3. A fonr-ronmed house owned by Mr B. Murrow and a cottage adjoining, owned and occupied by Mr E. Cox, in White road, were destroyed by fire this morning. The insurances are:—Murrow'a house £150 in the Norwich Union, furniture £100 in the United; Cox's house £100 in the Manchester office.
