Upon the completion of half the journey Welbeck and Mcli Melo were slightly leading from Lady Ernie, Vitellius aud Gulistan, and behind them laid Omladina and Bellevin from Carriden. At this point Welbeck was beaten, and with Omladina now set going in real earnest she passed Mcli Melo a couple of hundred yards from home and won in graud style by a length from Mcli Melo, half a length between second and third. Vitellius was fourth, Carriden fifth, Welbeck sixth, the White Witch colt seventh, Faversham eighth, Longford Lady ninth and Lady Ernie last. Time by Benson's chronograph, lmin 4sec.

Entrance 26sovs. Eclipse Stakes course. About a mile and n-quarter. Col. North's eh c Red Heart, by Hilarious or Cherry Ripe—The Sabine, lOst .. (T. Loates) 1 Lord Ailing-ton's br c Church Parade, Bst 71b (M. Cannon) 2 Mr H. Hyham's eh f Queen of the Chase, 9st 21b (S. Loates) 3 Betting—Evens on Red Heart, 11 to 10 agst Church Parade, 33 to 1 Queen of the Chase (offered). Church Parade made the running, with a three-lengths' lead of Red Heart, who settled down twice as far in advance of Queen of the Chase. Entering the rails Red Heart drew up to the heels of Church Parade, and challenging at the distance, won a close race by a neck; a bad third. Time by Benson's chronograph, 2min 23 4-sth sec.
