COURTENAY A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Courtenay A. and P. Association was held at Kir wee on Friday evening, when there was a good atr.eti<iancß of members and exhibitors. The President, Sir J. Dysart, occupied tbe chair.

A letter was read from Messrs R. and J. Reid, in reference to a decision given in the clas* for English Leicester ewea, objecting to the remarks of the judges to the effect that one sheep entered uy them in the cla-tR waa not pure bred, which they contended waa coutrary to fact, the sheep iv q--.eKt.iou having been awarded a certificate for the best ewe in the class at the show of 1894 and been accepted and entered iv the Ne.v Zeal-ad Flock Book on the certificate of the breeiler, Mr P. C. Threlkeld. It was unanimously rs-oivei that the meeting sympathise with Messrs Reid Bros. ,in the matter, but were unable to do anything further.

The Secretary read an interim balancesheet, snowing recemts to date £240, viz., entry fees £83, gate money £45 15s, donations to fuuds £50, subscriptions £37, various sources £16 s*i. - Expenditure, prizes in cash £183 17s, in value £15 lbs, Burnham Band £7, printing £6, other expenses £59 3*, leaving »», balance to date (after~.c earing a debt of £20 from last year) of £4, with about £40 outstanding to the Association's credit. This was considered very satisfactory, aud, on the motion of Mr A. _. Holmes, a hearty vote of thansa waa passed to the President, Treasurer and Secretary for the very satisfactory manner in which the show had been carried out. The following ia a list of the principal prizvtakers: —Mr G. Seaton, twenty-two firsts, eight seconds, two specials, £29 5s 6-1 and four trophies; Mr W. Sheate. seven firsts, eight seconds, one special, £14 9- 61; Messrs R and J. Reid, six firsts, seven seconds, one special, JBI2 9i 6ri ; W. W. McCieliand, five firsts, two seconds, two specials, £9 4s ; W. F. Clentoa, five firsts, one Second, two specials, £7 7d ; A. Gunu, four firsts, three seconds, oue.special, £7 ; R. Kemp, five firsts, oue fourth, £7 78 6d; Giilanders Bro?., four firsts, oue second, one special, £6 10s ; A. Nelson, three firsts, two seconds, one third, £4 7s 6d and prizs vaiue £2 10a; A. G. Holmes, two first., £3; G. Adding* ton, three firsts, one second, £4 15s and prize value £2 ; J. M. Furze, five firsts, £6 ; J". Gough, two firsts, three seconds, £5 17s ; A. McNae, three firsts, six seconds, £4 13a ; J. Dysart, three seconds, one third, one fourth, £3 7s 6d; F. Bull, ooe first, one second, £3 18s :" : J. N. Lawrey, Bevea firsts, oue special, £3; H. A. Knight, two seconds, £2. ? It was resolved' that the prize given by Mr W. H. Ttavia should be awarded to the jumping cUaa. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Manning and Co., Shand, Prestidge, Blackburne aud Gough for liberal contributions towards the refresh meats on the day of the show, also to those who had given trophies and donations to the funds. A number of accounts were passed for payment, and several suggestions recorded for future consideration. After the business was concluded, several toasts were honoured, and the meeting indulged in a little harmony.
