D'-nedix, November 25. Ths monthly meeting of the D.J.C. Committee was held on Thursday, when there were present, Hon. G. M*l.ean (in the chair), Messrs Meen-tn, Fleming, Hazlett. Stephenson, Miller, Fergus and Short. The Works Committee reported having inspected and tried all the starting machines erected by Mr John Rose, and found them to work in a most satisfactory manner. A donation of £2 2s was received (per Mr Miller) from Mr C. S. Howell, saddler, Christchurch, to the Distressed Jockeys' Fund, and ordered to be acknowledged with thank*. Ii was resolved that tickets o-i the outside totalisator should ba issued on Cup Day at 20s, ;i*id on the oMicr two days of the nice!ing at 10s, with the proviso that inve'-'ora from inside must invest at least 20s. It was resolved to ask Mr Taggarl to act as clerk of the course at the ensuing meeting, Mr Gouvley having been appointed starter. The question of excluding bookmakers from the course during the maeting was remitted to a special committee with power to not. The Betrayer gelding, Starling, has gone into HankinV stable, and after the meeting here is over he will be taken to Invercargill with Salute and Cuiriassina.
