BOWLERS FROM SCOTLAND.
The Glasgow Evening Times, referring to the proposed visit of a team of Scotch bowlers to Australia, speaks as follows :— " Now, then, who's toe a trip to the Antipodes ? President Brownlio, Queen's Park, is the reciDient of a letter fcoin the VreeidenD of the Waverley Bowling Club of Sydney, cordially inviting a team from Scotland to play a series of matches in Australia. Captain Mulholland, of the VVaverley Club, when in Scotland recently, was much impressed with the kiudlineas shown him on the various greens, and on reporting his experiences on his return, his Club Jiae taken up hia proposal to invite a team. President Brownlie and Mr Audrew Paterson, of Cathcart, have each signified their willingness to take the trip, and have appended their names to the foot ol the letter. Should a team venture to go ie will be a great innovation iv bowling, and a return visit may naturally be expected. Fromperaonalknowledgeof some of the greens in the sunny south, 1 can guarantee the visitors some splendid play, but as the turf is much stronger and coarser, I would suggest that they take with them wider bowls than they pbiy with here. My suggestion is borne out by one oE the makere here, who a 'year ago supplied a Club with bowls of No. 3 bias, and several weeka ago he got the order repeated, but with a bias of No. 4.-'
