EYRETON.
The monthly meeting was held on October 7th. Present—Mr Hopkins (Chairman) and Messrs Giles, Smith and vVriy;ht. Tha outward correspondence and Surveyor's report were approved. A letter was read from the Hon. J. T. Peacock, Btatiag that he could not consent to the shingle required "for the South Eyre road being obtained from his land. Mr Ralph Wilson wrote, asking leave to cut the willows along the south side o: Greig's road. It was resolved that Mr Wilson be allowed to cut the willows a distance of one and a half chains from the North road, on condition of their being cut off level with the ground. Mr Smith proposed and Mr Wright seconded—"That the Chairman do now sign and seal the lease of Reserve No. 1548 and part of 1547 to Mr Robert Coup. Also the lease of part of Reserve 1547 to Mr Fairweather." Carried. The Chairman then signed and sealed the lease. Mr John Davis wrote objecting to the present Ranger's services being dispensed with, as he had always found bim do his duty. Mr O'Connell denied that he had been favoured by the Ringer and requested the Board to retain his services. The Ranger stated the .omplaiut made against him at last meeting was untrue as to his showing favour moro to one than another, and said if he was again appointed he would endeavour to give satisfaction to the Board. Applications for the office of Ranger were received from Charles Bonham and Edward Unwin. Edward Unwin was appointed. Accounts amounting to £65 12* 2d were passed.
