SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

Tbe usual meeting of the West Christchurch Committee was held on Wednesday evening. Present—Mr VV. McClea (Chairman) and Me-srs G. T. Chisnall, G. Tombs, H. Curlett, J. labister and H. C. Godfrey. Apologies were received from Dr. M lorhouse and Mr Sandford. Accounts amounting to £26 Oi 7d were passed for payment, leaving a balance of £13 6a 6d to the credit of the Committee. The following resolution was passed :—" This Committee congratulate our teachers upon the success attained in the display of school work at the Industrial Exhibition, but at same time express their regret that in allotting space great injustice has been doee to the West Christchureh school."

The usiul meeting of the Addington Committee was held on Wednesday evening. Present—Me Bowdeu (Chairman) and Messrs Bell, Brown, Cutler, Down, Freeborn, I'Anson, Moore and Woods. The Head Master reported the number on the roll to be 400, working average atteudance 327, highest attendance 375. He also reported that the water supply wai very unsatisfactory, on hot days the supply being inadequate. It was resolved to refer the mUter to the Board. Messrs Cutler, Down and Woods were appointed the Visiting Committee. The- Head Master stated that he had interviewed Mr Rowley, who had kindly promised lo arrange a concert in aid of the prizs fund. Accounts to the extsut of £7 5i 61 were passed for payment.
