CHRISTCHURCH STREETS.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —For general traffic oar streets may be voted in very eood order, but not so for bicycling. Owing to the method now adopted of chrowiug very rough metal into depressed parts, and the roiling left to ordinary tratlie, there is a terrible unevenness, which is severe on wear and tear of the " bikes. : ' I am not far out when asserting that the sum invested in cycles is greater than in al! the Ciirriages, cabs, carts, &a., on our ro.ids. Hence the claim of cyclists to aorne special consideraticn from the city authorities, x think if the steam road roller were put to run on thai portion of each street next to the side channels, a good run could be given to cyclists, who would keep thereto, thereby minimising dangers of accident. Cyclists would thus be induced to "keep 10 the right," and much comfort would be gained at a small expense.—Yours, &3., Cyclist.
