The Wellington Rugby Union held a special meeting this evening, when a resolution was passed pcotcsting against the decision of tho New Zealand Union Appeals Committee in reference to scrummages, as opposed to the rutes laid down by the English Union, and not an interpretation but a new rule. They urged that the Committee, in passing it, has exceeded its duty, and that it would be manifestly, unfair to bring it into force so late in the season. The resolution asked tfiffit the decisiou might be reconsidered. WANGANUI, August 5. The Wanganui *• rep " team leaves for Aucklaud to-morrow, playing there on Saturday next.
