STREET WATERING.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PKE33. Sir, —The following suggestion is a little out of season, but its adoption would, I am surej lead to great savings in time and expenditure by our city and local municipal authorities. In several of the large towns in England, where street watering is done by horsepower, they have a most effective attachment at the rear of each watering cart whereby, by the U3e of two spriuklera, a water spread of from 30ft to 40ft is obtained. Chain gear from the hub of each wheel gives the driving power to the sprinklers, which a»-e fed by one supply pipe front the tank. Tbo sprinklers may be worked singly or together as desired. The contrivance is very simple, very eSective, and not co3tly.—Yours, &c, AETHUB APPLBBT. i July 3156-
