The Otago Daily Times says:— ■' We have been shown a sa;nple of• iron pyrites from the Wakatipu galdtields, which was recently assayed by Mr E. H. Hill, F.C.S., giviDg the handsome result of 25ozl7*lwt gold to the ton, of which 95 per cent, could be obtained working on a large scale. The piece of go.d from 2oz was quite au appreciable quantity. Sureiy it is time some steps were taken to recover nud work the enormous quantities of auriferous pyrjjfces close to our dooi'3."
