SKIN SALES.
The usual weekly sale of skins, &c, was held yesterday, when there was good com petition for all classes of skins, though values were somewhat iriegular. Buyers complain of the number of skins damaged through being cut and their value is depreciated fully 6d each. A little more care exercised by butchers m taking off the skins would prevent aDy loss that now occurs through the injury mentioned. Best butchers' crcwsbreds made frotn 3s lid to 63 lid, medium do 3s 3d to 33 9 J, best butchers' merinos 2s 61 to 3s 10J, medium do Is 8d to 2s 3d, country skiua up to 5s Id, best station crossbred skins from 4s to 5a Id, medium do 2s 6d to 3s 61, do meriuos up to 4i 6d. Fat showed a slight decline, I£l being the price realised for best quality. Hides and calfskins were without quotab.e change.
