THE MOKIHINUI COAL MINE.

A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that Mr Edward Seager, who has just returned from the Mokihiuui Mine, declares thab the Knights of Labour arc progressing satisfactorily in the work at the mins. They have been boring on th_ Company's leases, and are quite satisfied that they contain large and valuable quantities of coal. A double line of tramway has been put down and, in about a fortnight's time, the Knights will bs in a position to put out between 200 and 500 tons a day. It is proposed to work the incline by water power, when ib is expected thab between 500 and 600 tous a day can bo put out. Several bores have been put down ahead of the new workings and seams varying from 15ft to 19ft of good, hard coal have been proved.
