PORT UNDERWOOD.
A number of the captains of sailing vessels lately windbound in Port Underwood wrote to the Wellington Post urging the Gcvernment to construct a telephone to connect with Ocean Bay, with a view of .heir communicating with their owners and friends, and thus relieving the anxiety often felt for the safety of overdue vessels which are lying in there. The Shipmasters' Association have decided to approach the Vliuister for Marine in support of telephone communication being established between Port Underwood and either Blenheim cr Picton.
