Intense cold is being experienced in England, and in parts of the Midlands the thermometer was 6deg. below zero. February 7,. A violent snow blizzard swept over Scotland and the northern portion of England and Wales. Many train 3 are snow bound, and ice floes block tho upper reaches of the Thame3. The present winter is said to be the most severe exparienced since 1880. The French-American liner Cascoine, and the Cunarder Cephalonia are overdue, and some anxiety is felt for their safety, owing to the Majestic reporting terrible storms in crossing the Atlantic, and various signs of disasters. WAsniNGTOK, February 7. . There is terrific cold weather in tho northern States, where the thermometer averages 25 degree below zero, and 50 degrees in the western States. Lake Champlain is entirely frozen over.
