DETERMINED RESISTANCE OF CHINESE.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Shanghai, February 6. The Chinese fleets and several island forts maintain a determined resistanco to the Japanese. London, February 6. Russia, Great Britain, and France intend to advise China to open her porta to the world; also that the Japanese should not be allowed to annex territory on the mainland, but the latter are not to be restricted with regard to the indemnity, the retention, if captured, of the fleet, and strategic positions.
