Last evening, how* ever, about cix o'clock there was a heavy shower with every appearance .of a wet night. Instead of rain bright hot weather is now required to finish the harvesting as only a few stacks have yet been erected. The weather at, Ashburton yesterday afternoou and evening was very stormy aud heavy showers of rain fell. A Press Association telegram states that the weather at Wellington set in wet from the Bouth last night. The Press Association agent at Invercargill reports that heavy rain fell during Tuesday night, and yesterday the weather was overcast and coll.
