He pointed out that his duty was imperii- ;, live, and stated that every shopkeeper who, wiiij* required by law to close on Saturday afternoon neglects to do so, will bo summoned. Ho declined to agree to any t*. at case. With regard to the contemplated proceedings in the Supreme Court to teat \ the validity of the conference re the Satnr- \ day half-holiday, tho necessary papers are •wing forwarded by Messrs Hcsketh and K'uhmond to the Attorney-General for his approval, and on receipt of-his authority feolice of motion will be set down for hearing ab the first available sitting of the , Supreme Court. The procedure will be to toove for a writ of certiorari directed to the Whiuter of Labour to reiuovu ths Gazette BoWte into the Supreme Court for ths pm-i'ose of its being quashed.
