February 8. At a meeting of the Commercial Bank of Australia, Mr Service stated that a reduction of £20,000 had been made in the annual expenditure, and the assets realisation account had been reduced by nearly £700,000. The liabilities of the new Bank were £1,800,000 and the assets £4,800,000, all of the latter being sound. The Bank had anticipated extended deposit receipts since reconstruction to the extent of nearly half a million. An enormously rich discovery has been made in Hayes Bros. , claim near the White Feather mine.
