ROAD BOARDS.
WEST EYRETON. The annual meeting of the ratepayers of the West Eyreton Road District was held on Slay 10th. Present—Mr J. Addinell (Chairman), and Messrs J. Dawson, F. G. Horrell, A. Hunter, S. Sheat, and W. Smith. The annual report and the balance sheet, audited and certified to as correct by Mr Greville and the Auditor-General, were read and adopted. Mr Horrell proposed and Mr W. Smith seconded—"That the Board take immediate steps to recover all outstanding rates.' . The motion was carried. JMr Sbeat proposed and Mr W. Smith seconded—" That it be an instruction to the Board to consider the whole matter of Mr Marmaduke Dixon crossing the roadi with bis water races, particularly as it is reported that he has crossed a formed road, and that, after aa inspection of the intakes by the members, in the event of their being of opinion that there is imminent danger of injury to the district, immediate steps be taken to compel him to restore the roads to their original state." This was carried. A hearty vote of thanks to the members of the Board was carried, as was a special vote of thanks to Mr Stephen Sheat.
