Mr Stewart, the Official Receiver, intends to advise that prompt steps be taken to recover from the Directors of the Land Association the amount) of dividends paid out) of capital. May 12. Additional Directors of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company are Messrs A. G. Garrick and Henry J. Gibba. It is probable that 9, question will be raised as to tbe liability of the late Board for dividends paid out of capital. The Statist and the Economist concur, in the opinion that Mr Mundelia should resign from the Government, and assert that his position is untenable. Mr C. J. Hegau has withdrawn from the Board of Directors of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company.
