SOCIALS AND ENTERTAINMENTS.
On Tuesday afternoon as many as were able of the inmates of the Queen's Jnbilee Memorial Home had a most enjoyable drive to Jiawtnornden, where an ample tea had been provided by very kind friends. The party returned about six o'clock greatly pleased with the outing. The drags were provided by Messrs Deiamain, Clarkson and Hay ward, to whom thanks are due. On Thursday evening the first social of the season of the Friendship Guild of the Kangiora Presbyterian Church was held in the Oddfellows' HalL There was a large attendance, and great interest manifested in the proceedings. Songs and readings were g'ven, and addresses by Revs. W. J. Sim """j 1 j *** onro - Refreshments were provided, and afterwards » little dance was kept up till 11 o'clock.
