A meeting of creditors in the estate of Matthew James Sherwin, hotelkeeper, .was hell at the Official Assignee's office yesterday morning. ! Fraser (Kaiapoi) £25 17s Id, Public Trustee (amount of debts and costs re Norman v.-Sherwiu) £25, Joynt and Andrews £18 8a ld» Rainbow and Son £11, Boyd and Kerf (Rangiora) £12 15s, The bankrupt stated that all the assets in the estate, witn the exception of the book debts, had been realised under a deed of aisiu;nmeut. : Had been lessee of the Courteuay Arms Hotel for over two years, but had lost money while in possession of it. Several pecuniary losses, together with a failing business, had resulted in •■ huviug to seek the protection of •'.he Court. ' After questioning the. debtor as to certain transactions in land, the estate was left to be dealt with in the usual manner.
