FIRES.

. The. police have been informed by telegraph from Constable Smart that a building used as a store-room at Clarence River, near Eaikoura, was destroyed* yesterday morning. The building was" the property of Mr James Johnston, and was insured for £50, but the loss is considerably more than that. The cause of the fire is a mystery. luspector Brohain yesterday received a telegram from Sergeant O'Grady stating that about 0.15 a.m. the stables at Kurow parsonage were totally destroyed by fire. There was a large quantity of hay stored in the loft. The building was insured for £350 and the contents for £150 in the South British Insurance Ofhce. The report has since been confirmed by a Press Association telegram.
