Mr Stewart estimates the gross liabilities of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Ageocy at £5,440,000, of which it is expected that £2,250,000 will rank. The total assets amount to £4,494,000, from which is deducted the sum of £1,370,000 for debenture holders'claims, leaving £3,123,000 to meet the two and a quarter million liabilities, which are expected to rank, thus giving a surplus of £873,000.
