(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND. December 13. The first wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 4365 hales were offered and 4000 sold. There was a large attendance of buyers, representing not only local but Southern and Australian firms as welL Competition «*a. keen and brisk up to a cerUin limit, and this limit iv many cases was beyond that obtained laat year. This was particularly noticeable in crossbreds and long wools, which averaged a halfpenny per lb higher. Merinos were somewhat at a discount, and there was no marked advance iv the higher qualities of wool. On the whole, the sale is regarded aa satisfactory. _____________m__
