Mr F. W. McLean, who has been promoted from Manager of the Nelson Railway to Engineer in Charge of the lines between Wellington and Napier, has been presented with a. handsome souvenir by the officers of thb section, together with expressions of regret at his departure. DUNEDIN, November 20. Canon Howell has resigned the incumbency of St. Mathews. The Sew Hoy Company obtained 55ozs of retorted gold for the week. AUCKLAND, November 20.
Owing to the losses of the Agricultural Association through the show being spoiled by bad weather, the large prize winners have foregone their money prizes. It is expected the other prize winners will follow suit. •
Joseph West, Geo. Lawson, and Oswald Bridges were committed for trial for alleged larceny of a quantity of clothing from Fowld's warehouse.
Mrs Rowe, wifs of Thos. Rowe, of Newton road,* attempted to commit suicide by swallowing matches. She has given no reason for her conduct. She was sent to the Hospital.
