GRAIN SALES.
Messbs-H. &f atsok and Co. (associated with .the National M; and A. Company; of New Zealand, Limited) report for the week ending September 25th, 1893 :— W heat. —The improvement reported from Home during the week must be gratifying to holders after such a long spell of dullness, bat so far the change has not been sufficient to create an advance in this market, and we can only repeat our last week's quotations of 2s7dto2s9d.
Oats are dull and there is no desire to speculate, the business doing being of only a hand to mouth character, prices stand at 2s to 2a 4d.
Barley.—A little enquiry for seed still continues, but malting lines are almost out of the. question as the season may be considered closed. Values are nominally 3s 6d to 4s, and up to 4s 6d for seed. Potatoes—The market is if anything more favourable to holders, but there is no appreciable change, while speculation is not brisk. We quote 75s country stations. Grass Seeds —Rye grass stocks are in exce33 of the demand, and prices are easier at 2s6dto3s9d. Cocksfoot remains firm at last quotations. Beans and peas are without * quotable change. ■*-, Dairy Produce —Butter 6d to Bd, cheese 3d to 4£d. Quotations are f.0.b., sacks extra, potatoes exceDted. ' "- Auction Sale—We have to report a dull market on Saturday, but nevertheless we disposed-of various lines at the following Whole fowls' feed 2s 4£d, broken 2s 2id. Oats—2s to 2s 2d. Potatoes —65s to 70s. Chaff—Oaten sheaf 603. Clovers —Seconds 2d. Barley—Feed 2s. Rye Grass and Cocksfoot—Several lines of seconds were deposed of privately. Prices ex store, sacks extra.
