The estate in the Levels riding is 38,000 acres, and tbe total valuation £302,781, which is £48,000 over the last' property ■ tax assessment. The estate is assessed in blocks, and thirty-six objections were lodged. The Company employed valuers themselves, who are called as witnesses. ' So far only a dozen outlying poorer blocks have been dealt with, amounting to £45.000; the redactions made total £4230. The chief dispute is as to the proportion and value of waste lands and the value of English grasses. The Company's valuers say 20s all round, and the assessor 10s an acre.
