Large quantities of Russian gold recently withdrawn are returning to London, and consequently the financial prospect is much brighter. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message, dated London, 21bc July, 1891:—

Wheat—Market weak. The weather is unsettled. New Zealand wheat, average and long-berried, is worth respectively 39s 6d to 41s 6d per 4961b5. There is at present no quotation for New Zealand wheat at ci.f., to arrive.
