Monday, June 1. (Before Mr D. Williamson and Mr A. Harrison, J.P.'s.) Drunkenness, &c.—A first offender was fined ss. H. Shaw was fined 10s and costs. M. Patterson was charged with drunkenness and with resisting and assaulting Constable. Cleary. Evidence *waa led to show that defendant, while drunk, had annoyed the Salvation Army, and had behaved in a very violent and abusive manner while the constable was arresting him. Defendant expressed regret for his conduct, and the Bench taking a lenient View of the case fined him 25s and costs. James Gill, an old offender, pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness, usin.'z obscene language,, and resisting Constable McGilL He was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment. TuESDAar/JuKE 2.
