NEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above was held last night, delegates being ¥resenfc representing the Lancaster Park totting, Canterbury Trotting, Lower He*_icote Racing, Nelson Trotting, Geraldime Racing, New Brighton Racing, and Auckland Trotting and Pony CHubs. . Correspondence was read — From the HJawke's Bay Trotting Club, asking for r_xliation, and also from the Kawarau (Otago) Jockey Club. 'These applications were granted. The Metropolitan Plumpton Park Company wrote, asking to be affiliated with the Association. Mr * W.; Kerr, New Brighton, wrote, protesting against the of the •treasurer of the C.J.C. iv his reference to trotting. It was decided that letters be sent to the Colonial Secretary, and all the Metropolitan Racing Clubs in the colony refuting the statements made by Mr Stead, the Treasurer of the ' C.J.C., the letter to be drafted by Mr Connell, 6h© President and Secretary. Mr J. A. Connell's notice of motion in reference to a new rule prohibiting riders and drivers from holding conversation with owners and others when once on the track was brought forward, and, after, consideraable discussion, w«s held over until the annual meeting of the Association, to take j place next month. The Secretary of the C.T.C. wrote asking that certain owners' and horses be disqualified in consequence of non-payment of * entrance fees. After . deliberation, . the I owners and horses were put in the forfeit | list until the arrears are paid. I The action of the C.T.C., in disqualifying ; tiie winners of the two races at the recent ! meeting at Addington was discussed. i Mr Macs submitted an appeal from the | decision of the Canterbury Trotting Qlnb •against the disqualification of his horse Bedale, and it was decided that a meeting be held on Tuesday next to consider the matter. * Mr J. A. CoHNEU. gave notice of motaon ,—" That a Committee be appointed at the ja.Tmnn.l meeting next month to revise the rules and suggest such amendments as necessary."
