WELLINGTON, May 14.
The imports for the quarter ended .-arch amounted to £1,737,480, against £1,688,797 for the corresponding quarter of 1890. The chief contributions were — Auckland, £422,737; Wellington, £327,917; Lyttelton, £348,409; Dunedin, 4419,180. The exports for last quarter were J:3,778,275, as compared with £3,785,437 for the first quarter of last year, Auckland contributing J-41.8,090; Wellington, £526,273; Lyttelton and Cliristchurch, £641,469 ; Dunedin, £430,475 ; and Napier, £646,592. During the quarter 183 vessels of 164,724 tons entered inwards, and 197 with 179,364 tons outwards.
