(PBKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) WELLINGTON, May 13. In the Appeal Court to-day argument in the case Gleeson v Ehrenfried was concluded, and their Honors reserved judgment. The insurances on Mrs Kingdon's house, destroyed by fire at Karori last night, were —On the building, £450 in the South British, £100 in the Phtenix ; on the furniture, £230 in the Colonial. The Bank of New South Wales and the Union Bank have both decided to make Wellington their headquarters. The cable steamer Recorder goes out on Friday with five knots of cable to repair the line first broken. If the weather is favorable she can complete the work in nine hours. DUNEDIN, May 13. The City Council decided to-mght to consider, at a future meeting, whether the Public Bodies Powers Act should be adopted with the view of giving relief to corporation tenants. The electric light sports, which were to have been held by the Carisbrook Club tonight, had to be postponed owing to the pump of the engine going wrong. Returns submitted at a meeting of the Benevolent Trustees' meeting to-day showed that the expenditure for out-door relief for the first four months of the present year showed an increase of about £290 compared with the same period last year. John Henderson was fined for slygrog selling at Berwick.
