The ordinary meeting of the Board, wai held on Monday, March 2nd. Present— Messrs J. W. Overtou (Chairman). J M Haydon, J. W. Prebble and F. Speucer." Correspondence was read from rbe SeJwyn County Couucil, re bonus for small birds' eggs. From same, notifying cha,t the*' fee for registeriug dogs is fixed at 10* <£ach, i except when otherwise provided by the Act of 181)0. From the Hals well Road Board, drawing attention to the state of Nutt's bridge. Resolved—That members inspect same before communicating with the Hiilswell Board. From Mr Geo. Easterbrook, giving three months' notice of his inceution to reuign the office of poundkeeper. Accepted. From the contractor for tramway drains, complaining of cattle and pigs filling up the drains. Resolved — That the occupiers of land fronting on the drains be written to I re same. The Clerk reported having j bought small birds' eggs to the atnouqt of ! £37 Us 3d. It was decided not to purchase any more this season. Resolved—That the bridge over Bladder's drain on the Tancredand Halawell road be renewed, and that on the by-road over Townthend'e drain be re-planked. That the Clerk , put on meu on all the drain contracts" where ! contractors are,not carrying out the specifications. Tenders were considered for shingling, and the tender of Payne and Smith accepted for White's and Leadley's road, aud that of Wm. Finn for Fountain's road. The Clerk was appointed dog ranger for the district. The pay-sheet, amounting to A 5142, was passed tor payment, and the Board adjourned.
