DUNEDIN, March 5,
The Hon. J. McKenzie received a number of deputations today on various matters. He leaves for Invercargill in the morning.. .Replying to a deputation re the auamployed he promised to communicate with the Minister of Public Works, and stated that he proposes to amend the conditions on which land may be taken tip under the village settlement scheme, so that persons may occupy land for two years without payment. Regulations have been, sent to Auckland for asaent of the Governor in Council.
