Zealaud have declared a dividend of 5 per cent, per annum. AUSTRALASIAN NAVAL DEFENCE. The Admiralty propose to store 2000 tons of coal in tho vicinity of Sydney harbor. If land can be obtained at a reasonable price, the coal will be stored on shore; if not, coal hulks will be built to receive it. Captain E. G. Bourke has been appointed to the command of H.M.S. Riugarooma, and Captain T. P. Nesham to H.M.S. Tauranga. BRITISH TRADE. The value of imports for the yealr is £6,700,000 below the previous year, while the exports show an increase of £14,600,000. FRENCH REVENUE RETURNSParis, January 7. The revenue for 1890 shows a surplus of sixty million franca (£2,400,000).
