THE PARNELL DIVORCE CASE.
EVIDENCE FOR THE PETITIONER. (not _*_U~SS ASSOCIATION.) Received November 161b, 6 p.""*. London, November 15. In the Divorce Court to-day, the petition of Captain O'Shea for a divorce from his wife, on the grounds of her adultery with Mr Parnell. was begun. Neither Mrs O'Shea nor Parnell were represented by counsel. The evidence of servants in the employ of the petitioner waa strongly in support of the charge; and Captain O'Shea, in his evidence, denied connivance, also the counter charge of adultery, and that in 1881 he had challenged Mr Parnell to a dueL The case was adjourned. It is stated that Parnell resigns the leadership of the Irish party in connection with the O'Shea divorce. The Solicitor-General denounced the conduct of Parnell in declining to appear before the Divorce Court to justify his false and faithless betrayal of a husband's confidence.
