We thus drove back to the reef, which is 15ft from the top of the new rise. The stone when first struck showed highly payable gold. In etoping up the reef it turned into almost solid antimony. I then found 16 was not payable on that account, and started to rise on the reef to ccc lithe stone would change. After going 12ft, and finding it did not do so, I had to scop crushing and shorten some of the hands* We also drove a cross-cut In the hang* ing wall behind the north wtnfce 12ft to see if I could find tno stone that we worked in the botfeoin of the battery level (known as the new find). We failed to find anything of value. On the flat shore level we have extended the rlae 32ft, making atonal of 80ft. I then found no improvement In the reef, so I thought it best to drive both ends of this rise to see U we have been Soing on the end of the stone. The south rive has been extended 83ft, carayiitg stone the whole distance, showing veiy good gold. At present the reef In ten face Is 3ft, but mostly antimony stone* The north drive has been driven 20tt, b«fe there Is no improvement yet."
