MR GOSCHEN'S BUDGET.
IMPORTANT RE-ADJUSTMENT OF TAXATION.
fPBR PRKSS ASSOCIATION.! Received April 19th, 1-25 p.m.' London, April 18. The Budget has been brought down. The estimated expenditure for tbe year is £86,857,000, leaving an available surplus of £3,549,000. The coinage fund has been restored, aud a gpld fund created and credited with £600,000 arising from mint profits oil the circulation of silver. ,The ddty on silver plate is remitted to tho extent of £80,000, and that on tea reduced to id per lb, and on currants to 2s per cwt, a Greape is making important concessions with respect to this latter article, The bouse duty .is reduced by £540,000, and there are several other minor reductions, The duty on British and foreign spirits has been increased 6d per gallop; whioh, with the additional beer, duty imposed last year, wiU be handed to local authorities.
