MR GRAY'S LETTER.

TO THB BOITOB OF THB PRESS. Sir,—Pending the official reply from the .full Committee, which meets on Monday next, ie may be" well for. mc to say this much in answer to Mr Gray's letter. Mr Gray undertook to send the letter, which' he wrote at my suggestion, to the Hon., Secretary of the Early Closing Committee. His sending it tome instead was not courteous to Mr Clark. After writing that letter to mc Mr Gray wrote another to the Hon. Secretary in reply to the Committee's communication, and tho contents of this letter—to be published in due course—were such as to induce the Executive, at tbe last moment, to absolve mc from my promise of reading Mr Gray's letter to the meeting. Just after seeing Mr Gray I saw Mr Clark, who undertook to return Mr Gray's letter without delay. —I am, &c, Thomas Flatoll.
