WELLINGTON NOTES.
[from our correspondent.] : April 7. ! Although the Wellington Racing Club refused to pass the programme of the Island Bay Hack Racing Club f6r a ing to have been held to-day, they have seen fit to pass a programme of a similar nature (with a less amount of stakes added) to be held on their • caoeco)iwe the 26fch met. This is;, the third aunuaL meeting of the Hutt Hack Racing Club, and at the last nearly £2000 was put through the machine/ and a handsome balance resulted. The stakes are not large compared with other hack prizes, and the money is not sjpenfc in Improvements as the Club only rents the Hutti Course for the day. It would be Interesting to hear the Wellington Racing Club's reasons for this distinction between the two clubs. -
