LINWOOD TOWN BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of this Board was held on Monday, at 7.30 p.m. PresentCommissioners Hardie (Chairman), W. Smith, Jameson, and Bergh. Apologies were received from Commissioners Atkinson, Goodman, and Dombrain. Correspondence was read from —Gas Company, reporting lamps fouud extinguished by the lamp-lighter. The Clerk was directed to call the Company's attention to the lamp at the corner of Phillip street, aud St. Asaph street. Charitable Aid Board, forwarding list of recipients of charitable aid in Linwood. Received. Sydenham Borough Council, in reply, re the Ferry road tram line, stating that the Company had been served with notice to repair the line. Drainage Botrd, re arrears of 1868 rate, and asking that steps be taken to have the same collected. To be informed that the matter Ls having attentiou. Selwyn County Council, stating that this Board's contribution to hospital and charitable aid expenditure for the year would be £172 os 9d, equal to a rate of seven-fiftieths of a penny in tbe pound, and enclosing special order. Resolved to give effect to the order. The Chairman reported the receipts since last meeting were £76 2s _d: debtor balance at Bank, £328 ls 2d; cash In hand, £5 16s 2d. The proposed amendments to the by-laws were referred back to the Committee. After passing accounts, The Board sat as the LdCal Board of Health, The Inspector's report was read and approved. In the case of a person neglecting to comply W4th the Board's notice to construct a drain in his premises, it waa resolved te do tbe worfc, and chanze him with the cost
