PKR PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received August 3rd. 1 p.m. WESTERN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, August 3. The Queensland Government favors the proposal of Sir Harry Parkes to hold a conference respecting responsible government being granted to Western Australia. The proposal is opposed by Victoria, on the ground that delay would be fatal. Sir Henry Parkee persists that the conference is the best means of obtaining the desire of the sister colony. ARREST OF A BROKER. Crawford, a prominent mining broker at Gympie, has been arrested on severai charges of forgery, involving over £10,000. THE GLEBE DISASTER. The exploring party in the Glebe mine have recovered the bodies of Bamtield and Peate, junior.
