CANTERBURY v SOUTH CANTERBURY. The first trial match in connection with the above took place at North Park yesterday afternoon. There was a good muster of players, and a hard practice was held. The Probables (red and black), eventually won by 3 goals and 3 tries to the Possibles 3 goals. a . A trial match wjn be played on the Christchurch Ground on North Park, on Saturday, the 13th, at 3 p.m. Teams :— Red and Black.—H. Wilson, McLean, Allardyce, Cresswell, Ward, Cochrane, Bates, Bean, Childs (Christchurch), Evans, C. Garrard, McKee, Plank, Reilly, Weekes; v Colours —W. Broughton, F. Hobbs, A. Hobbs, Surman, Donnelly, F. Homer, Mountfort, Childs (Merivale), Dow, A. Ebert, J. Fuller, J. Hepburn, Hutton, H. Lowry, McCourt, Moir, Sin.cock; emergencies—Labatt, Petrie, Dobbs, Frost, Knight (2), T. Wilson. Both teams are requested to meet at Warner's (sample room), at 8 o'clock prompt, on Friday.
