AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeting of the St. John Ambulance Association was held last night in the City Council library. The attendance wae principal!/ confined to ladies, 7 there only being three gentlemen present, when the meeting commenced, inclndingthe Secretary.' After aUttle delay, Mr Jeltyll took the chair, and apologised for the absence of the Mayor, who was but of town.. Mr S. D. Barker, the Secretary, brought up the report and balance sheet for the year, which has already been published. . The Chairman moved the adoption, of the report and balance sheet. Dr. G. E. Deamer seconded the resolution, which was agreed to. Mrs. H. B. Webb moved a vote of thanks to the . medical staff as a. whole for their services during the year. Mrs Caro seconded the motion, which was carried. Dr. Deamer moved-—" That the members of the outgoing Committee he re-elected for the ensuing year, with the addition of the name of Mra Kinsey." Dr. Mannih&c seconded, the motion, which was carried. Miss E. Brown expressed tfhe opiaioa that there i ouKht co be more interest- evinced by the members in the Association than had been the case, at that meeting. IE the members of the Association did not take an. interest in the proceedings of it they could, not expect to get new members. Mrs Webb thought that if the date of the annual meeting were fixed earlier or later they would get a better attendance, as the majority of the members had not returned from their holidays. The Secretary stated that Brs. Manning, Deamer and Jennings hod joined the honorary medical stall A vote of thanks to fri"* Chairman closed; the meeting.
