[By T_u______ph.] [feoh oub corbi—*o_d«_t._j DUNEDIN, January 23. The members of the Dunedin bar intend entertaining Mr Denniston at dinner prior to his departure for Canterbury. Mr Pish, M-H.R., is very wroth at the appointment, and in a letter to the Times to-day says:—" In my opinion the appointment of J. E. Dei—_ton as one of the Judges of the Supreme Court is a wrong done to bar, Bench, and country. What I have further to say upon this subject £ shall say upon the floor of the_ House, where I have no doubt the appointment will be pretty freely canva_-ed."
